@jay: that didnt work, had the same problem on every server,
my solution was: disabling ipv6 (ipv6 doesnt work on old games such ET, must turn it back on if playing new games, but i don't play anything other than ET)..fixed all the problems

in every real war like in ET, teams had medics, engineers , field ops , soldiers and probably cov ops..

anyway ,if a team had only field ops ,well thats NOT a team, because a field op doesnt need a field op if he got shot but he does ...

i was trying to join ETc|8sec but i couldn't so after i found out about this menu i did install it and now it fucked up my ET, i cant uninstall this menu and when i tried to reinstall ET ,the same menu appeared again :/

if im right i guess you dont have an etkey , so everytime you join a message pop out saying: " Invalid Guid detected ! " or something like it.
usually , reconnecting can help you .

if not :
all u need is an etkey , so if u couldnt connect on ETc servers , try to join another server just to get ...

For the pbsetup it dont work with me when i download it and excute it , i get a really big error and i cant even connect to my ET.
Last time when i tried to excute it, it stuck in my pc and then it took my some time to uninstall it. i prefer not to use it , i mean i tried it ...
